And Jan said to Rose, "I love that wild rice dressing of yours."

So, Rose starts thinking about what would go good with that Wild Rice Dressing and some old Cooks magazine was lying around with a feature on "How to get Cornish Game Hens to Brown?" You have to stuff that stuffing somewhere. Why not one of those game hens? As you can see, she out did herself.

We ate a little late, because Kroger's didn't have any swiss chard. And how could you possibly Not have swiss chard for a meal like this (I'm not kidding, this is how Rose thinks). The chard was fine too.
Aren't these great? Radish salad. I think Carol found them growing in a neighbor's yard and crept up on her hands and knees 7 nights in a row. Taking one radish at a time til she had enough. It was worth the crime.

Had to have a veggie burger for Lindy.

This cranberry and orange sauce was to die for.

We start almost every Monday night dinner with a green salad.

Turkey Schwarma......no kidding

Carol did her soup, lovely soup.

Michael did the turkey -- middle eastern schwarma way. I think that there were only 83 toppings. Cucumber, tomato, onion; humus; cilantro chutney; eggplant extravagnza; beets, beets and more beets. Thom did baked cauliflower with cardamon, ginger and exotic spices from his cupboard. What a spread.

Linda sent a lentil-bean goodie, even though she couldn't be with us to eat it all.

Rose, lathering it on. Yea for Rose. She's back!!
Jan piles it on.

"Now Joe, you'll need a spoon for this."

Jonathon, a frequent visitor from the south. He brought two kinds of sweet potatoes ...super yum.

"Sure, I'll save some for you"

Is it time yet?

September Dan Friedman returns to the table -- Talapia at Thom and Jans

Always good to hear stories of the railroad when Dan comes to visit. We had talapia, some exceptional potatoes and cabbage, fruit salad and broccoli. Uncle Ben died on this Monday, so Carol and Michael were busy with other important stuff.

Labor Day Beer Tasting with Sean -- Funny how there are no food pictures after 13 kinds of beer

It rained, but I think I remember that we had food at the Labor day picnic. The only pictures were of the great beer tasting -- lager to porter and back again a few times.

August. Chris finally learns why Thom doesn't take sugar in his coffee -- oh yea, Rose does magic with Salmon

Rose's salmon steaks were sumptuous. Cucumber salad and lovely tomatoes too. But the real excitement came when Chris finally learned the truth about why Thom doesn't take sugar in his coffee. She really loved the story, of course!!!!!!!!!!

August. Linda does magic with Quiche

Linda's incredible quiche will go down in the annals of Monday mouthgasms. Just one question Joe, was that the way it felt the first time you had sex?

July Shirley's here -- Carry-out Mediterranean from Lavash in Thom and Jan's Garden

Mitch's mom Shirley is a regular Monday Night guest. We ordered take out from Lavash, one of our favorite middle eastern restaurants. It was a great July day to be outside.
